A Cavalcade is Philmont's horseback high-adventure trek. Instead of backpacking, our crew spends six of eight days on horseback, covering the same legendary Sangre de Cristo backcountry the old miners, cowboys, and mountain men once rode.

Trails climb from 6,500 to 11,000 feet through pine forest, meadows, and canyons — with the iconic Tooth of Time watching over it all.
Chuck-wagon dinners, gold panning, blacksmithing, campfires, and a final-day Gymkhana — light-hearted riding games to cap the ride.
